Sarah Michelle Gellar made her triumphant return to daytime TV today (just one week after making her triumphant return to all of TV in Ringer!), appearing in one episode of her old stomping ground, All My Children, which goes off the air for good Friday. (Sob.)
Despite saying she would be playing a whole new character, Gellar appeared as a hospital patient with amnesia who can’t remember anything about herself — except that she is Erica Kane’s (Susan Lucci) daughter, the role she originated nearly 20 years ago. One highlight? While chatting with the nurse, Gellar describes her unique condition and alludes to her future star-making role in a tongue-in-cheek way:
Gellar: “So I see vampires, that doesn’t make me crazy!”
Nurse: “No, vampires are very popular…”
Gellar: “I saw them before they were trendy!”Gellar, who won a daytime Emmy for her work on AMC, was only in two brief scenes, but it’s nice to see her back on daytime — it helps us remember the good ol’ days when she played Kendall Hart, personal assistant and long-lost daughter to Erica, in the ’90s. Still, we forgive her for moving on to play a kick-ass heroine in a show about vampires… yes, before they were trendy.
stray musings and introspections stumbled upon in the stacks or the recovery period thereafter

i see vampires
so All My Children was never one of my addictions (that honour belonged, very briefly, to General Hospital because i was hard in teenage lust with Thaao Penghlis, then his character came to justice or died or something and i lost interest in General Hospital then, when i was fifteen, one Christmas vacation, i stumbled upon his face on some other show and thus began my thirty-year secret devotion to Days of Our Lives~when you’ve watched something for that many years it just seems inappropriate to give it up, but that is far beyond the point…)
I have other, well-known-and-no-need-to-mention reasons to be pleased by this:

goodbye to you (or should that be I?)
So i watched her for a while and then i was SO over it (and i must admit i'll watch ANTM occasionally (mostly on Oxygen. Speaking of which, just caught the "petite", most of the models were 5'7", season and couldn't help that notice that all of them wore flats during judging, when in other seasons they have been told they must learn to walk in heels~did the producers tell them to do that so that they would look even shorter? Or do all of us shorties just detest heels?) I think my favorite contestant ever was Alison, broken-doll, Harvard (or as her internet fans/discoverer know her, Creepy Chan.) Besides the strange fascination of it all, there is the fact that Nigel is so gorgeous (i've also always found it more than a bit hypocritical that she makes her contestants do all sorts of things like pose with animals and in the nude that she had barred from her own contracts.)
When i did watch The Tyra Show i was always so annoyed that she would ask her guest a question and then interrupt them before they got to the answer (and it always seemed to be with someone that i REALLY wanted to hear the answer (tho i'm sure she did it other times, i just didn't care to notice.)
Her ego always shone through...
Her ego always shone through...
and supposedly she fired Paulina because Paulina's ego was too big, how could her ego be bigger than Tyra's? I like Paulina (even if i have no idea what she's really like~she's blunt and hon
est AND she's married to Ric Ocasek {gotta love the Cars! [and i do!]})

I'm not sure if i'll miss her or not (i'm thinking not, as i haven't seen her for quite some time...)
Just another bunch of YoSafBridg thoughts you probably have no interest in!

just wondering
though i try to maintain a bookish-like, librarianly image, i must admit (and i am admitting this only to you because i know that you will keep it in the strictest confidence) i do spend an inordinate (i really hate to admit how much~at times it is the only thing i can do when i have a migraine~so for hours it goes) amount of time numbing my mind in front of the television (hours mostly used by DVR or OnDemand thank you Cable~you do make it all so much easier, and i do pay you dearly for it). There are shows that i watch because i have watched them for like 27 years (i.e. Days of Our Lives) and i just must continue, there are shows that i watch because they pass the time and entertain me somewhat better than the other
drech that is on the airwaves (Boston Legal, Grey's Anatomy, Criminal Minds, er, Lost, Desperate Housewives, Brothers and Sisters, etc, etc, etc) and then there are shows that i deem truly worthy of my time, for instance: House, Bones, Veronica Mars (which after Buffy died its somewhat natural death became my favorite show and i know that it has now been canceled so it is going the way of those shows that die the deaths that all television shows must eventually die...) and

which, finally, brings me to my point: i'm not sure if anyone is with me here, i wasn't so sure at the beginning, which was interesting, but at this point i think Jericho has the most promise, the most interesting storyline, and the most compelling plot of anything i'm currently seeing (not genius or anything, but i would like to see what happens). In other words, i like it. What i'm wondering is: has it been cancelled? Is it going to be cancelled? I've been searching for info and haven't been able to find anything. Things i like always get cancelled. If they make something i like and put it on the market i should stock up on it quickly because they (and there's that THEY again) will pull it soon. You know, that's my life. So does anyone know the fate of Jericho? And is it truly a good show or am i just in a migraine haze? Or is everything just so bad that it makes some things look good?
